D1 Summative: Find an example of a lyrical poster online (google it) or use the examples above.
You may CHOOSE one of the following options for your summative project:

Opening: An introduction to what your analysis is looking at:
Include a clear image of the poster you chose
Share information about the artwork and artist if possible
State why you chose this example
Body: A formal critique of the artwork by using the four following steps:
Describe: Describe the artwork without judging it. What does it look like? What does it show? How does it combine text and images?
Analyze: Analyze the artwork by explaining how the artist uses Elements / Principles (and/or Photo Concepts). Include a minimum of four. Explain how they the Elements / Principles (and/or Photo Concepts) work with one another to enhance the overall composition.
Interpret: Interpret the artwork by explaining what you think it means. How does the artwork express the meaning of the lyrics? Why did the artist make the choices he/she made and to what effect? Explain what visual cues are given to communicate the message to the viewer.
Evaluate: Evaluate the artwork by explaining what is successful or not? You can use the previous three steps to help you, and reflect on the basic overall artwork, the elements and principles, or the artist’s ability to communicate to the viewer.
Closing: A conclusion of your analysis.
Restate any key topics you wish. State what you like and/or dislike about the artwork.

- Choose song lyrics or poem to illustrate.
- Combine lyrics of song/poem with image(s) OR arrange the lyrics to create image(s).
- The visuals should express something about the song/poem.
- Remember your elements / principles & photo concepts. Design the whole page!
- Use GIMP / INKSCAPE programs as needed.
- Complete Plan Sheet first, then begin Summative
