Describe: Fully describe the artwork by explaining what you see without judging it. The description should be highly detailed. What do you see? How is it arranged? What materials? What colors?
Analyze: Choose the most important Elements and Principles in the artwork to describe. Which Elements and Principles stand out? How are they used?
Interpret: Share what you think the meaning or purpose is behind the artwork. What is the idea? What does the artwork mean? You might talk about what the artist intended and/or what the artwork means to you as the viewer.
Evaluate: Write what you think is successful or not about the artwork. Consider what it looks like, the Elements and Principles used and the meaning or purpose; how do all these come together and achieve the artist's goal? What works about the art and why? What doesn't work about the art and why?
